This is by far the best stove top mac and cheese you will ever taste! Once you get a taste of this, you will never go back to the box. It is so easy to make and it is so smooth and creamy.
Whenever I get busy in the afternoons doing my errands, and need to put a dinner together quick, this is always my go-to. My fiancé loves it! It is so simple and fast and there are never any left-overs.
The perfect thing about this recipe is that it is cooked in a single pot, and everything get stirred together. The milk, the seasonings and all of the cheeses. It turns out so smooth and creamy!
I use regular elbow macaroni and cheddar cheese for a nice orange color. One thing I need to tell you, make sure you are using a regular mild, medium or sharp cheddar cheese and not an extra sharp cheese. The reason you don’t use an extra sharp cheddar cheese is because it can separate when melted and you won’t get a smooth and creamy sauce. Sometimes I add in some other types of cheeses like Parmesan, Monterrey jack, or mozzarella. For this recipe I added in a little mozzarella.
